As an artist I feel that art is a way to show emotions and stories through image and colors. It is a representation of the artist themselves, whether that be through actual personal experience or just something that they felt in a given situation. People may think that by emotion I mean, sadness or angry, no I mean that to represent happiness, excitement, temptation, etc… As for the story telling you have to create a piece that has a certain feeling and parts that can create what you want to explain.

            I am inspired a lot by the French impressionist painters of the late 1800s, Vincent Van Gogh is especially being a great influence on how I have developed my style and the things I like to paint. My style is based on how they “paint with light” I like to utilize dramatic lighting to make mysterious scenes and characters.

            The way I paint is not realistic but it is not abstract either I have a painterly way of blocking in the color. I will try not to render everything exactly how it looks in life. I think that the painterly feel gives it a bit more style and personality to it, like an uneasy shaky aspect to it. In more modern standings I find inspiration in films and games because of the storytelling I feel that there is so much material to work with. Concept art is what that interest is. Creating a scene for another scene but making it your own if you will. I don’t think that artist should be confined to one focus. I think that s an artist you should be able to dabble in every trade that you like.
